Removing Friction is the rule to build consistency in life

Soooo today we're diving deep into something that'll change how you build habits, design websites (yeppp framer websites too), and literally live your life...
It's about FRICTION.
And how removing it is the secret sauce to doing anything consistently.
We'll talk about why easier action = consistent action (for posting, for building framer websites, for brushing your teeth lol), how this applies to website design and your daily routine, why your framer website might be losing clients because of friction, how to run the "friction test" on everything you do, and why I'm obsessed with making things stupidly simple.
(basically...If it takes 5 steps, you're gonna quit. We're fixing that 🙃)
Let's goooo.
The Friction Problem (or Why You Keep Quitting Things)
Here's the truth nobody wants to hear...
You're not lazy.
You're not unmotivated.
You're not "just bad at consistency."
You've just got too much friction in your systems.
Yk what's wild??? I tested this with my own posting schedule for 3 months... And the difference between posting daily vs skipping weeks came down to one thing: how many steps it took to actually post.
When I had to:
Open notion
Find my content calendar
Write the post
Create Image in Figma
Download
Upload to Linkedin
Format
Hit post
I posted maybe 2x per week (on a good week lol).
But when I simplified it to:
Open my phone notes (where i already write ideas)
Copy
Paste into LinkedIn
Post
Suddenly I'm posting 3x per week CONSISTENTLY.
Same person.
Same motivation.
Different friction.
And this applies to everything...
Your framer website? If the navigation takes 3 clicks to get anywhere important, people bounce.
Your morning routine? If making coffee requires 8 steps, you're hitting snooze.
Your business? If onboarding a client needs 47 emails and 3 discovery calls...You're losing deals.
Friction is the silent killer of consistency.
(and yes...If brushing teeth required 5 steps, you'd skip it too 🤣)
The Framer Website Friction Test (Because This Is About Web Design Too Duh)
Let's talk about your framer website for a sec...
Because I see this mistake constantly when doing website redesigns for clients.
They build these gorgeous framer websites (like seriously stunning visuals yk) but then wonder why conversions are trash.
Wanna know why???
FRICTION.
Every extra click is friction.
Every unclear CTA is friction.
Every "learn more" that leads to another "learn more" is friction.
Every contact form asking for 12 fields is friction.
I recently did a framer website redesign for a SAAS client...
Their original site:
Homepage → features page → pricing page → contact form (with 8 fields) → thank you page
That's 5 steps to become a lead
The redesign:
Homepage with embedded calendar link
One click to book a demo
Done
Conversions went up 340% in 2 weeks.
(yepppp...Just by removing friction 🙃)
Here's the friction test for your framer website:
Can someone go from landing on your site to taking your desired action in 2 clicks or less?
If not??? You've got friction to remove.
Some quick fixes for your framer website:
Put your CTA above the fold (no scrolling = less friction)
Reduce form fields to 3 max (name, email, that's it usually)
Make navigation obvious (if people have to think about where to click, that's friction)
Speed up your framer website (slow loading = massive friction)
Remove unnecessary pages (every page is a decision point...Decisions = friction)
As a framer expert, i tell all my clients this:
Your website's job isn't to impress designers...It's to remove friction between your visitor and their goal.
Make it stupid simple.
Make it fast.
Make it obvious.
(that's literally my whole philosophy as a framer expert lol)
The Life Friction Audit (Time to Get Personal)
Okay so we talked about framer websites...
Now let's talk about your life.
Because removing friction isn't just a web design principle... It's a life principle.
Here's what i did last month (and you should try this too):
I wrote down every recurring task i do and counted the steps.
Posting on linkedin? 11 steps.(waaaaay too many)
Going to the gym? 6 steps.(packing bag, driving, parking, changing, working out, showering)
Cooking healthy meals? 9 steps.(planning, shopping, prep, cooking, etc)
Working on client framer websites? 4 steps.(good!!)
Then I asked myself:
"how can i cut each of these in half?"
Posting on LinkedIn → down to 2 steps (write in notes app, post directly)
Gym → down to 3 steps (home gym setup, no driving, already in gym clothes)
Healthy meals → down to 4 steps (meal prep sundays, just reheat)
And guess what happened???
I'm posting 6x more.
I'm working out 5x per week instead of 2x.
I'm eating healthy 90% of the time instead of 40%.
Same goals.
Same person.
Less friction.
Here's your homework (yesss I'm giving you homework lol):
List 5 things you want to do consistently but don't.
For each one, write down every step it currently takes.
Then ask: "how can i remove 50% of these steps?"
Some examples:
Want: read more books
Current: remember to read → find book → find quiet spot → read
Reduced: keep book on pillow → read before sleep (2 steps)
Want: drink more water
Current: remember → get up → walk to kitchen → find glass → fill water → drink
Reduced: keep water bottle at desk always (1 step...Just drink)
Want: post consistently
Current: idea → write → edit → design → schedule → post
Reduced: write directly in platform → post (2 steps)
Easier action = consistent action.
(works for websites and life 🙃)
Final Thoughts: Does Your Life Pass the Friction Test???
Look...
I could write 10,000 more words about this (honestly i probably will in another post lol)...
But here's what i want you to take away:
Consistency isn't about motivation... It's about friction.
Remove friction from your:
Framer website (so customers convert)
Content creation (so you post consistently)
Daily habits (so you actually do them)
Business processes (so you grow faster)
Life (so you enjoy it more)
Start with one thing today.
Pick something you want to do consistently.
Count the steps.
Cut them in half.
Watch what happens.
(spoiler: you'll actually do the thing 🤣)
And if you need help removing friction from your website specifically???
That's literally what i do as a framer expert.
I take complicated, clunky websites and turn them into smooth, conversion-optimized framer websites that actually work.
Because at the end of the day...
Whether it's life or website design...
The rule is the same:
Easier action = consistent action.
