Okayy so today i'm breaking down the biggest myth in website design that's wasting your time...
Spoiler alert: it's not about button colors 🙃
We're diving into:
→ why your a/b tests are probably useless
→ what actually stops people from converting
→ the one thing i added that jumped conversions 31%
→ how to fix your framer website's ctas right now
→ real examples from my framer expert testing
(yeppp this applies whether you need a website redesign or you're building from scratch!!)
Let's goooo...
Waaait... You're Still Testing Button Colors???
Seee here's the thing nobody tells you about website design ---
Your visitors don't care if your CTA button is #3B82F6 or #2563EB.
They just don't.
I literally spent 2 weeks once obsessing over button colors on a framer website...
Testing gradients, shadows, hover states...the whole designer fantasy 🤣
Annd you know what happened???
Zero difference in conversions.
Meanwhile the founder kept asking "but why aren't people signing up??"
(my brother in the name of God...We're solving the wrong problem!!)
Because here's what i learned after building 50+ framer websites and doing countless website redesigns --- people aren't thinking "hmm is this button aesthetically pleasing enough for me to click?"
They're thinking "wait...What happens after I click this thing???"
That's the real question your framer website needs to answer.
The 31% Conversion Jump (That Had Nothing to Do with Design)
So last month I tested this across 4 saas homepages...
Changed absolutely nothing about the button design.
Same color.
Same size.
Same position.
Just added one line of text below it:
"No credit card. Setup in 2 minutes."
Annd BOOM --- conversions jumped 31%.
(yeppp you read that right!!)
Because yk what actually stops people from converting???
UNCERTAINITY.
Your visitor's brain is running a million calculations:
→ "will they charge me immediately?"
→ "is this gonna take an hour to set up?"
→ "do i need to talk to sales first?"
→ "can i back out if i don't like it?"
Annd your beautiful framer website with the perfect button color isn't answering any of those questions 🙃
Seee as a framer expert, I've watched thousands of session recordings...And the pattern is always the same --- people hover over the cta, scroll down, scroll back up, hover again...Annd leave.
They want to click.
They just need certainty more than they need aesthetic perfection.
Boring Clarity Beats Fancy Buttons EVERY SINGLE TIME
Here's what actually works on your framer website:
Tell them explicitly:
→ what happens next ("starts your free trial")
→ how long it takes ("ready in 90 seconds")
→ what they won't have to do ("no credit card required")
Real examples from my framer website projects:
Bad: "get started"
Good: "start free trial → no card needed, cancel anytime"
Bad: "book a demo"
Good: "see it live in 15 min → pick your time, no sales pitch"
Bad: "sign up"
Good: "create account → free forever, upgrade later"
The difference???
One removes uncertainty, the other creates it.
Annd this applies whether you're doing a website redesign or building your first framer website from scratch --- clarity is always the unlock.
I've seen founders obsess over:
→ button copy testing ("try" vs "start" vs "get")
→ button shape (rounded vs sharp corners)
→ button animation (fade vs slide vs bounce)
While completely ignoring the fact that their visitor has no idea what clicking means for them 🙃
(learn from my pain please!!)
How to Fix Your Framer Website CTAs Right Now
Okay so here's your action plan:
Look at every cta on your framer website annd ask:
"does this answer what happens next?"
If not???
Add it.
Microcopy below buttons works magic:
→ "instant access.No setup required."
→ "join 2,847 users.Free to start."
→ "preview in 60 seconds.No commitment."
Annd here's the secret sauce for website design that actually converts ---
Match the commitment level to the action:
Low commitment action (newsletter): "get weekly tips → unsubscribe anytime"
Medium commitment (free trial): "try it free → full access, no card needed"
High commitment (sales call): "book 20 min chat → see if it's a fit"
As a framer expert who's done wayyyy too many website redesigns, i can tell you --- this one change outperforms visual tweaks 10/10 times.
Your framer website doesn't need more animations or fancier layouts...It needs to communicate clearly what happens when someone takes action.
Does your CTA answer "what happens next?"
If not...Fix it today.
(seriously...This takes 5 minutes and could change everything 🙃)
